Tours and Events

Daycares, preschoolers, grade schools, brownies, beavers, and others are welcome. We conduct fall tours in the apple orchards and pumpkin patches. Younger ages go for walks in the orchards, learn how to pick apples and carve pumpkins for an unforgettable experience. As the ages increase, tours go into more detail.

John gives a personal tour according to the groups interests and studies. Topics covered are harvesting, pollination, irrigation, labour, packaging etc. An apple or pumpkin goes home with each child. At the end of the tour, if previously arranged, homemade apple pie or apple cider is waiting for the group. (There is a cost for pie and cider).

The costs of these field trips and group tours are free for now. We feel educating children to the rural way of life and knowing where their food comes from is very important.

John’s favourite group tours are the high school students. He can go into more depth on one of his favourite subjects – farming. He covers topics that include discussions on pesticide and insecticide use, importing and exporting, the importance of buying locally and living and working on the farm.

During the winter months John is available and loves to go into the schools to talk to classes about farming.

We are doing our part to educate tomorrow’s future. However, the calendar fills up quickly so please book your tours in advance.
