ABOUT US

Shelley Korvemaker Photography
In the fall of the year 2000, we (John and Maxine Zekveld) acquired our farm property, located at 4622 London Line, 1/2 km east of Reeses Corners.
The farm consists of ninety-four acres of which, eighty-five are used for crops. Twenty-two acres are orchards where we grow apples, plums, peaches, nectarines, and pears. Another ten acres are set aside for berries with the remainder used for a great variety of vegetables. All our crops are hand picked and delivered fresh to our on-farm store and farmers markets.
In 2004 we expanded our service to the local Sarnia Farmer's Market. We are at the Sarnia Market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from May until October. It is located on the corner of Ontario St. and Proctor, right close to Wellington St. in Sarnia.
In 2005 we opened a small on-farm bakery where we use the fruits from our fields in loaves, tarts, muffins and more. About that time we also started going to a local campground to sell fresh fruits and vegetables on Saturday mornings. Service at your door!
In 2009 we were one of the first farmers to join the Petrolia Farmer's Market at the Fairgrounds. We also began making preserves using our extra fruits from our fields. There is a great demand for jams made in the family kitchen!
Also in 2009 we had an abundance of apples and decided to start a Fundraising Program. A healthy way for schools or groups to make money and promote healthy eating. For every bag of apples sold, the group makes a profit. We started off with two schools and now have so many orders we have to limit how many we can take. It's great to see everyone trying to eat local and healthy!
In 2012 we decided to start our Produce Box Program. Fresh fruits and vegetables from our farm delivered to your door, or ready for pick up weekly during the summer months. We started off with a handful of customers but are now delivering over a hundred boxes weekly.
Our goal is to deliver to you the freshest, top quality fruits and vegetables available. In this day of and age, we know you want quality food that is safe. As producers, we take this concern seriously. There are different considerations that help us to use crop protectants in a responsible manner.
We can pick for you or, with some crops, you can get even fresher produce and at a better price if you pick for yourself. Take your family on an outing to the farm so they can see first hand where fruits and vegetables come from. Our goal is to give excellent customer service and satisfaction.
We are looking at expanding our farm experience for you. In 2010, our tenth year of business we added more farm animals for your enjoyment and to use produce that is left over from the day. Many laughs have been enjoyed over the antics of these animals.
Our business is family owned and operated. We welcome children of all ages to the great outdoors and the family farm experience. Take your camera! There are all sorts of great picture taking moments on the farm: the taste of that first berry, picking the perfect apple, or finding the fattest pumpkin. The best pictures are taken in natural settings. In the fall, we create a display so you can take great group and family photos.
We offer school and group tours around our farm in the fall. For many children it is their first experience in the country. How rewarding to educate children about where their food comes from and the work involved in getting it to their table. We have been invited into school classrooms over the winter to further discuss this process. For those who come out to the farm we also started to offer wagon rides. What a hit!
Check out our on-farm store. We offer the freshest in-season fruits and vegetables Ontario has to offer. We work with Foodland Ontario to promote local produce and therefore are able to offer more variety from local farmers. Our first crops in May are Asparagus and Rhubarb.
We offer wholesale opportunities in some crops. Contact us for pricing, quantities, and delivery. Crops we generally wholesale are: some strawberries, raspberries, sweet corn, green and yellow beans, squash, pumpkins, gourds, decorative corn, peaches, apples, tomatoes, and peppers.
Check out our crop calendar to see when particular crops are available. You don’t want to miss our fresh produce. Or join our Face Book and Instagram groups and we will update you weekly!
Our farm received the Runners Up Award for the Outstanding Young farmer's Competition in 2011!
In March 2016 we were nominated for the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business Award. On May 27/16 we were honoured to win this award! Thank you to all our customers!
